The Clean50, www.clean50.ca, is an award launched by Delta Management, sponsored by Corporate Knights, that has been created to recognize 50 people in Canada who have made the greatest contributions to sustainable development and clean capitalism in Canada.
Coro has been named as a member of the inaugural Canada’s 2012 Clean50 in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Practitioners category.
The Clean50 website states:
"Impact is a very subjective term when it comes to sustainability. Who deserves the credit for a sustainable movement—the consultants, the project manager and engineers who implement the projects or the leaders who orchestrate the investment to turn concept into reality? Our answer is all of the above. History has shown that it is individuals who have combined vision with action that have driven the change needed to move society through a tipping point. It was this quality we set out to recognize in our nominees, therefore we focused on individuals who have gone above and beyond, true knights who had stood up in their organizations or society to overcome the barriers and made a difference."
The recipients have been chosen primarily based on their impact towards sustainable development and clean capitalism in Canada within the last two years. Nominations were gathered starting at the CK Gala in June, via www.clean50.ca, and continuing with search activity through early August. Companies were also asked about the impact NGOs, educators and consultants had on their processes—and NGOs, consultants and industry associations were asked for their clients/members/supporters ideas as to who merited consideration.
In addition to their much deserved recognition for contributing to sustainable development and clean capitalism in Canada, the primary objective of the award is to bring the Clean50 honourees together with key advisors and Delta Management in an environment where we can all work together to come up up with 50 great ideas that will help drive Canada’s overall sustainability even further.
